Marjo Mitsutomi, Ph.D.

Chief Executive Officer

Born and raised in Finland, Marjo earned her doctorate in Applied Linguistics and recently concluded a successful academic career as a tenured professor and senior academic administrator in universities in the United States and Japan. A pilot and previous flight school owner, she has advised both the FAA and U.N. on the standardization of English for global aviation. In her TED talk, Marjo explains how the above remarkable standardization process unfolded and resulted in a unanimous UN vote for safety first, language included.

Marjo was raised in an evangelical church. She has served in music and teaching ministries throughout her life on each of three continents. A victim of sexual abuse in her youth and now empowered by the #MeToo Movement, Dr. Mitsutomi is dedicated to creating forums to help others help themselves.
